The Best Card Games
In this BIT: These are the best card games for your next family activity or family game night!
Spending time with friends, family, and loved ones is so critical to our happiness. Socialization is attributed to countless benefits, including lower risks of dementia, promotes a higher self-esteem, and of course, boosts happiness. However, it can be difficult to find an activity that everyone enjoys! Card games are simple, fun, and many of us already own a deck of cards. Below, we share an assortment of fun cards games for you to try at your next family game night, as a fun family activity, during a hangout with friends, or after-dinner.
1. SPOONS
All you need for this game is your deck of cards, spoons, a piece of paper and pen. Everyone playing aims to collect a four-of-a-kind, and grab a spoon. Any player that does not manage to grab a spoon in time gains a letter, and is out after missing 5 spoons.
2. Crazy Eights
The goal: eliminate all of your cards. Just like the name, in this game, all eight cards are wild, meaning that they can be played at any time in turn.
3. War
The battle of the card values! Whichever player has the greatest value wins the match – and whoever wins all the cards, wins the War.
4. King’s Corner
In King’s Corner, players strategically place cards on a table to build ascending and descending sequences in each suit. Aim to move your cards to the four corner spaces before opponents!
5. Cheat/I Doubt It
Play your cards face down while claiming to match the previous player’s discard. However, players can bluff and cheat by discarding cards they don’t actually have, challenging opponents to call them out on it.
We hope that you play one of these card games with a loved one at your next family game night, and that spending time with them brings you a small bit of happiness.
