In this BIT: Our Christmas Guide of Christmas activities, events, and more things to do in winter for a Small Bit of Happiness.

Time spent with family, friends, and loved ones is often one of the most magical parts of the holiday season. Connection plays a major role in feeling happy, and celebrating the holidays, as well as enjoying traditions (both old and new!), all contribute to us finding a Small Bit of Happiness. Out of ideas on what to do this holiday season? See our list of Christmas activities and Christmas events for the ultimate guide to things to do this winter, and all throughout the holidays.

1. Gingerbread House Party: Invite friends over, purchase pre-baked Gingerbread houses (or make your own!), and decorate. Consider teaming up and competing for best-decorated Gingerbread house.

2. Movie marathon: Invite your friends or family, secure some hot cocoa, and binge-watch all your favorite holiday movies.

3. Ice Skating: Live out your best Christmas movie moment by going ice skating at a local ice rink. Bonus points if there’s a decorated Christmas tree nearby!

4. Winter Walk: The simplest of activites can lead to the fondest of memories. Go for a walk with loved ones, catching up on life, discussing goals and plans, as well as taking in all of the seasonal changes that come with winter.

5. Christmas Market: Support local vendors and get some Christmas shopping done by going to a Christmas Market. Enjoy local food, get photos with Santa Claus, and immerse yourself into a whimsical whirlwind of all things festive.

6. Cookie Decorating Party: Similar in theme to the Gingerbread House Party, bake cookies with friends and decorate them! If you have leftovers, drop some off as a gift at a neighbours house.

7. Make Holiday Cards: Some people may not have friends or family to spend time with during this time of year. Alongside friends or family, make holiday cards, and drop them off at a Seniors home to spread some joy.

8. Make Ornaments: Create DIY ornaments to display on your tree this season! Try this tutorial.

9. Volunteer: Give back and spread some cheer by volunteering at an animal shelter or food bank, connecting with your community and helping others.

10. DIY Decor: Why stop at ornaments? Make a DIY wreath, ribbons, garlands, and beyond! Check out these tutorials for more fun things to do in winter.
