Try This Room Makeover For A Happy Room
In this BIT: Transform your space into a happy room with these simple room makeover hacks! Below, find all that you need for an aesthetic bedroom, including room decor.
Our moods are malleable. From the people that we surround ourselves with, to the colors we wear, and the space that we spend our time in, we can influence our happiness levels. Undeniably, there are dozens of factors in life that we cannot control, but those of which we can; we must utilize! With a New Year, comes the feeling of freshness, and excitement for all that is to come as the days unfold. To start the year, and each individual day, on a positive note, we can begin with making micro-improvements to the space where many of us, teens, spend a lot of our time: our bedroom. See below our guide to making your room aesthetic.
1. Smart Lighting
The light and ambiance of our rooms holds more power than we might think. The lighting in our room influences our circadian rhythm (which correlates to sleep quality and patterns), mood, focus, and happiness. In fact, a warmer, yellow hued light tone has been shown to improve happiness – resembling sunlight. Change your LEDs to warmer tones, open the window in your bedroom, or even invest in a light therapy box.
2. Feel-Good Scents
This is the simplest way to add to your room makeover, especially because every aesthetic bedroom needs a good scent! Add to the feel-good feels of your space by incorporating a mood-boosting scent. Different scents promote different feelings; lavender with calmness, peppermint with increased energy levels, citrus with joy, and rosemary with improved concentration. If you have one, use a diffuser and oils with your scent of choice. Alternatively, invest in a scented candle or room spray. Click here for DIY room spray recipes.
3. Inspire Your Space
Decorate your walls with words to inspire you! Frame or hang-up posters of your idols. Consider creating and displaying a vision board or curating a collection of motivational quotes to remind you of all that you can accomplish! Perhaps add photos of you and your friends or family members, or postcards of places you’ve visited, to celebrate happy memories and fun times. The best room decor is meaningful and heartfelt.
We hope that you try these ideas in your next room makeover, bringing a Small Bit of Happiness to your space.
