How often are you eating happiness boosting foods? Yes it’s true, food can make you happier! Certain foods do this by increasing the amount of the happy chemicals that your body produces, making you happier.  Below, we’re sharing 3 delicious superfoods that make you happy & boost your mood! 

1. Blueberries

Blueberries have the most antioxidants when compared to other common fruits, and studies have shown that they can help prevent cancer as well as aging.  This delicious fruit is also packed with resveratrol, and studies show that it can reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. 

In addition, the antioxidants in these berries are able to activate brain pathways, which improves your ability to learn and understand.

2. Dark Chocolate

Adding a little bit of dark chocolate into the daily routine is one of our favourite ways to feel more happy. Dark chocolate is made up of between 50-90% of cocoa, which gives you an instant boost of energy, making you more awake, and helping you concentrate better. Dark chocolate is also full of antioxidants, and studies show it can reduce heart disease. Plus it has a high content of fiber, magnesium and iron.  Just a few bites of chocolate can really elevate your mood and make you feel much happier. However, make sure to not eat too much chocolate, as it still contains relatively high-sugar levels, and too much sugar isn’t good for you. 

3. Bananas

These yellow fruits are full of fibre and potassium and they have a special chemical called tryptophan that may help you relax and improve your mood. Additionally, they are high in fiber and that is linked to improved digestion.
